Does your terracotta roof tiles need immediate repair? Well, if you do then you will be glad to know that you do not need professional help for the repair job; you can do it by yourself. To repair your terracotta roof, you will first have to remove all the dirt and dust from the damaged tiles. If there are residual grit and dirt in the tiles you can get rid of them using a wet sponge cloth. After that, clean the terracotta tiles dry.

Your next step will be to seal the cracks in the roof tiles using roofing cement. You can use a putty knife for this. Make sure that you let the roofing cement dry properly. If the damages are beyond cracking, then they have to be replaced. You should follow the manufacturer’s guide to remove the faulty tiles properly and replace them with new tiles. Just while changing tiles keep a wooden strip under the tile for support.

Before you actually start with the installation process, make sure that the tin ceiling is ready for use. If painting is required, you might as well do it instead of doing it after fixing which will be a great favor to your arms, neck and shoulders.
